CITAZIONE
The 40ft. fireball in the explosive finale of tonight’s episode was the result of the cumulative talents of the entire NCIS cast and crew who tirelessly work to make the show the success it is. But a special thanks is due to the camera operators, who donned blast shields and fire blankets; the cast and the stunt team, who exposed their bodies to extreme heat and flying debris; and especially to our skilled special effects team headed by Larry Fuentes (see blog reference for Ep. 163) -- who smiled the entire time as he rigged the REAL explosives that decimated that idyllic baseball BBQ.
Larry’s smile is something everyone likes to see because it means we get the privilege of watching him professionally and safely do his job. He’s a man whose genuine excitement is highly infectious. Pair him together with Diamond Farnsworth (our amazing stunt coordinator) as well as director Terrence O’Hara and look out -- not only will you see fireworks, you’ll say, “Did the actors really do that?!”
So, my sincere thanks to everyone who makes these episodes possible. And while I wish each of you could have been there to experience those fiery four seconds first hand, rest assured the incredible work of our NCIS team is on-screen for all to enjoy.
Thank you!
