The network's President and CEO Leslie Moonves is hard at work to help foster children conquer the odds they're faced with. Along with wife and "Big Brother" host Julie Chen, the power couple was honored by United Friends of the Children on Tuesday night in Beverly Hills.
As happy parents to a seven month old baby boy, they have become even more compassionate towards children without a loving home. Chen said, "Your heart always goes out to foster kids and kids who don't have the love and support that most of us grow up with, but lending our support this year, for me personally, was an eye-opening experience."
Moonves mimicked, "You find time for things like this because it's important and we're very fortune as Julie said. We have a beautiful healthy baby and you have to give back."
Familiar faces from CBS turned out to show support for their network's head. Craig Ferguson said candidly, "It's a very, very good cause...and also Les Moonves is my boss. It's kind of a conundrum. Of course I have to be here."
"NCIS"' Mark Harmon said with compassion, "I've known Les a long time and he's always done this even before people knew who he was, so the fact that he's still involved and doing this kind of work is something I support."
Moonves is grateful to have the backing of the television personalities he supports each and every day. "We like to think of CBS as a family that ET is part of and our stars are important to us," he said with sincerity. |
